At Kent Eriksen Cycles, we are a small group of tight knit folks who share a passion for the outdoors, adventure, and bikes. We are all transplants to Steamboat Springs from various parts of the country, but ended up here for basically the same reason – all of the amazing outdoor opportunities in this unique small town!
Meet the Team
Founder of Kent Eriksen Cycles. His youthful enthusiasm, years of experience, tireless attitude and dedication are unsurpassed. He manages to maintain his reputation of working a 19 hour day and racing his bike in the summer and xc skis in the winter, staying on top of the podium in most of the event he enters. He’s always staying busy with projects on his house but also works at the shop cutting, mitering, jigging and aligning frames.
Brad Bingham, originally from Newberg, OR came to Steamboat at the age of 19 and worked at Moots alongside Kent Eriksen for 15 years. Brad joined Eriksen Cycles in the Fall, 2012 and is now the current owner. Kent and Brad were former colleagues while Eriksen was at the helm at Moots Cycles. Brad’s signature welds are just the tip of the iceberg to his talent pool: His scientific approach to creating, designing and to the manufacture of frames is a welcome addition. He brings a genuine enjoyment of the business and his enthusiastic demeanor is contagious. In his spare time he can be found on his bike, drawing, or organizing his garage.
Kyle is the director of operations here at the shop. He is a transplant from the Midwest, a graduate of the University of Minnesota and a fast paced, well researched bike part genius. He handles customer service and will help you with all your bike part needs. He splits his time between the shop and office completing frame finish work, seatpost production, and advising clients on bike components, build designs and ordering up all the parts we put on our finished frames. He keeps things running smoothly at the shop!
No stranger to the bike industry, with 45 years experience as a bike mechanic, Ed is a lifer in this industry. He’s our lead mechanic at the shop. He puts together our final builds and does all the finish work among many other things. He’s our jack of all trades and basically knows how to fix everything. Originally from Ohio, he’s been in Steamboat for 25 years. When he’s not at the shop you can find him out on his sweet Eriksen gravel grinder riding around Steamboat. His favorite color is Chrome.
Hannah is originally from Missoula, MT and moved to Steamboat in 2006. She takes care of all the back office business matters of Kent Eriksen Cycles, human resources, and accounting. As an avid professional cyclist, she competes regularly in regional and national mountain bike races, and a few cyclocross or road races here and there. When she’s not at work or at a race, she can be found on her bike, taking classes at the local community college, or making lunch for Brad.
Simon is our shop dog. He is Kyle’s charge, but we all tell him what to do…and he, in turn, herds us into position each day. He is our CED, Chief Executive Dog. Simon loves visitors and is quick to greet everyone who walks in the door! HINT: Carry treats when you visit!
